MTG Guessing Game — Guess the Magic: The Gathering Card
GuessMTG is a free daily Magic: The Gathering guessing game. Everyone gets the same mystery card. Ask the Oracle questions, narrow down the possibilities, and name the card in as few questions as you can.
How the game works
- Get today’s mystery card. Everyone gets the same one.
- Ask the Oracle questions in plain English: colors, types, mana value, what the card does.
- Use the answers to narrow down the possibilities.
- Make your guess. You have up to 20 questions, and fewer is better.
- Come back tomorrow for a new card.
What makes GuessMTG different?
- Natural-language questions. Ask “Can it kill creatures?” instead of picking from a menu.
- The Oracle speaks Magic. It understands removal, ramp, card draw, tokens, guilds, keywords and more.
- Your answers add up. The game tracks everything you’ve learned about the card.
- Logical deductions. When your answers prove something new, the Oracle tells you for free.
- Range reasoning. “Is its mana value 6?” can answer “No, less than 6”, so you close in on numbers.
- Same card for everyone, one game a day, and spoiler-free results to share.

FAQ
What is GuessMTG?
A daily Magic: The Gathering guessing game. Everyone gets the same mystery card, asks the Oracle questions about it, and tries to guess it in as few questions as possible.
Is GuessMTG free?
Yes. It’s free in any web browser, with no account needed. An optional account keeps your streak across devices.
How often can I play?
One puzzle per day. A new mystery card appears at midnight in your time zone.
Does everyone get the same card?
Yes. Every player gets the same card each day, so you can compare results with friends.
How many questions do I get?
20. Your score is how many you used. After each answer you also get one free guess; extra guesses count as questions. See How to Play.
What happens if I ask multiple questions at once?
The Oracle only answers the first. “Is it red and does it cost 4?” is answered as “Is it red?” and uses one question.
Can I ask natural-language questions?
Yes. Ask in your own words, like “Can it kill creatures?” or “Is it expensive?”, and the Oracle works out what you mean.
What kinds of MTG characteristics can I ask about?
Colors and guilds, card types and subtypes, mana value and mana symbols, power and toughness, keywords, rarity, print year, the card’s name, and what it does: removal, ramp, card draw, tokens, board wipes, counterspells and more.
What is the Oracle?
The game’s question answerer. It works out what you’re asking, and the answer always comes from the card’s real data, so it never guesses or makes things up. How the Oracle works
How does GuessMTG decide when to reveal information?
The Oracle answers what you ask. It also reveals anything your answers have logically proven, for free, and gives a hint after repeated misses, such as a color after two color misses. When information is revealed
Is GuessMTG like Wordle?
It shares Wordle’s daily format: one puzzle a day, the same answer for everyone, and spoiler-free results to share. Instead of guessing letters, you ask questions to deduce a Magic card.
